The Origins

From it’s humble beginnings Berances Group started from the need for a ride that could be complete before work. The original 5:45 crew: Chris Davidson, David Mercassa and some others found that the Berances Grocery store was a convenient meeting location. This evolved in the whole crew adopting the name and eventually jerseys were made.

LCC is incredibly fortunate to have this ride in our repertoire as this is truly a fantastic group of people! Now the standing email list is 90 strong and in the summers the group may splinter off into as many as 4 groups! One of the staple rides of the group is the Fritter Friday ride, where everyone takes the time to get together at Coffee Company and share stories, plan weekend Rides and most of all Fritters from Coffee Way!

Who is this ride for?

To undertake this ride you should have some group riding experience and be able to maintain an average speed of 26kph for 45km. This ride is a no drop ride. The usual “A” group will always be swept by an inevitable “B”, so if you fall back, don’t panick!

The groups form in Rotating Paceline or Croswell Pace Line. Which allows this ride to be quite social!
