Youth races, only $5 entry!

Location: CFB Kingston, Ontario, minutes from historic Fort Henry and downtown Kingston

Distance: 50 to 75 minutes depending on category. Youth races will be 3-8 laps.

Amenities. Fryway food truck on site. Indoor registration, eating area, full bar, free coffee and washrooms in the curling club.

Description: 1 km course with four corners of perfect pavement. Only 4m of elevation per lap.

Format: Road criterium race. New OCup categories - see below. Community youth categories!

Prize structure: Come compete for a piece of over $10K cash and merchandise. Prizes for top finishers in each category and premes. Breakdown below.

Youth Races: Only $5 entry. Any bike will do! Come test your legs before the Kingston Kids Triathlon. We will have local bike shop mechanics on site to pre-check all bikes. Every child will get a medal! Open to any child born between 2015 and 2009.

Woman’s and Men’s equal prizes! Over $10,000 in cash and merchandise available to be won for finishing places and premes! Every category winner also receives a PMT helmet.

Separate university athlete podiums will occur within men’s and women’s A and B categories and the open C category. University athletes will also be entitled to any prizes won in their registered category (A, B or C). Theoretically, if a university athlete wins the A, B or C race, they will be 1st on both the category podium and the university podium. American university athletes require an international UCI licence to complete.

Youth Races: No cash prizes but every child gets a medal!

Event Proceeds

LCCs portion of the race proceeds will be donated to the Matthew Dawe Endowment Fund.

Matthew Dawe who was a member of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regiment (PPCLI) and a member of the RMC class of 2004 was killed while leading an operation near Kandahar, Afghanistan, on July 4, 2007. He attended LaSalle Secondary School and later graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada as the Cadet Wing Commander in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Tara, his son Lucas, his father Lt-Col. Peter Dawe (Retired), his mother Mrs. Reine Dawe, and his brothers, Peter Jr., Philip, and James, who have proudly served the Regiment.

The Matthew Dawe Memorial Fund serves as an endowment fund whereby the interest is used to fund operations of the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston & Area.
